Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Prize Or Punishment

At work we've been invited to participate in a contest. All we have to do is write the winning essay on "Enhancing LMP [Labor Management Partnership] through peer education." The lucky winner gets to speak to a seminar of several hundred nurses in Las Vegas.

Because I'm one of the few nurses fluent enough in English to write an essay, I was specifically invited to participate. There are just a few problems:

1) I have no idea WTF enhancing LMP through peer education means.

2) I don't want to go to Las Vegas ( been there, done that, it's not really me).

3) I don't want to attend a three day seminar with nurses (too many women)

4) There aren't enough drugs in the world to get me to talk to several hundred people at once.

I do have a few suggestions to entice me to participate. Instead of writing gobblety gook about some subject that doesn't interest me, ask me to share my hospital horror stories. The prize would be publication.

Oh wait! That's what a blog is. I won! I won!
