Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Baby Pictures

I was going through some stuff and found these old pictures of me. The world was still black and white then. This is what I looked like without hair or teeth. I didn't seem to mind.

This is my mohawk hairdo. My mother swears that this is the way my hair grew in and she wasn't having fun with me. I have a hand full of dirt because because I used to eat it. My parents thought this was cute and so just took pictures rather than stop me. I lived to tell about it and as far as I know, there aren't that many parasites living in my gut.

This is after the world changed to color. I was around 4 in this picture. I was too young to remember when everything was black and white.

This was my birthday. The picture is a little fuzzy, but I think there are 4 candles on the cake. This was back when birthday parties were held in people's homes and there was homemade cake, punch and games like pin the tail on the donkey. Kids didn't need clowns, petting zoos, inflatable castles or Chuckie Cheese to have fun. Don't I sound like an old fogey when I say that?

No you don't. I agree with you totally!
(probably meaning I am an old fogey too).

Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos!

Michelle, facing the camera is Nan, or as my mom called her, Nanatana. Sydney is the other little girl.

Thanks, Karen. Simple is best.
