Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Sick Days

The last couple of days I've been a little sick, which hasn't been all that bad. Yesterday, instead of going to work, I laid in bed with the sun falling on top of me. The electric blanket was on high to help with the cold chills and two dogs were leaning against me. There are worse ways to spend a day then being surrounded by sun, warmth and dog love.

Today, I'm better, but still achy and tired. Feeling a little cooped-up, I took a comforter out on the lawn and laid down in the sun. Of course, I was quickly surrounded by dogs and walked on, but once they settled down, we all took a nap together. That was a nice way to spend the day also, looking up at the pine trees against the blue sky, basking in the warmth of the sun, listening to the fountain and being surrounded by dogs. Sometimes being a little sick is nice. It's an enforced vacation.

Scott sent me a note that Daryl liked me and is going to call me. It sounds a little like high school, but even at my age, it's easier to have a third party communicate whether or not we liked each other. Some things don't change with age. So, yippee! I passed the first hurdle.

Hope you feel better soon. How energizing it would have been to lie outside in the sun :)

Michelle, it does feel great to lie in the sun, but it didn't actually touch my skin.

Sarah, even if I have to wear a mask and travel by gurney, I still want to spend the day with you and CL.

HP, I hope that you go to the doctor sooner rather than later. Take care.
