The New Jacket
Don't be fooled by the jacket, it's T shirt weather here. I'm modeling it only for the picture. This is my 51st jacket, I think. I've lost count. And yes, I really did need a new jacket. I'm preparing for a vacation to someplace where it has been known to rain and I don't own anything waterproof, except for camping clothes. (There is no way that I'm going to wear my neon bright yellow-orange Gortex rain coat.) In case it's cold, and that has been known to happen there also, the new jacket is filled with down. If I don't need it, it will squish down to nothing in the suitcase. It was also cheap. It was priced at $170 and I got it for $49.99. I love Costco.
The fur is not real, but that didn't stop my dogs from dragging it out to the lawn and getting the fake fur soaked and matted with saliva. I hope that once it's dry, I can brush it and make it fluffy again. *sigh*
I mostly live on fruit and Costco sells good fruit for a fair price, so I stock up at least once a week. This is some of the fruit that I bought today. While I was in Costco, three people wanted to know what the reddish green things were (see right lower quadrant.) They are pears. Don't people know what pears look like anymore?
On a follow-up note regarding my post on the flood, I was able to fix the wiring to the sprinkler timers. I even remembered to turn the circuit breakers off first. Well, okay, I remembered a couple of minutes into the project, but at least I remembered before I got shocked. Instead of replacing the wiring, I wrapped all of the frayed wires in electrical tape. A few of the wires needed to be spliced together and I wasn't sure which ones to join, but I guessed right. Once the circuit breakers were turned back on, nothing exploded. I turned the timers on and even the ones that haven't worked for months, work now. Yayyyy!
I'm proud of my independence and I keep telling myself that I don't need a man. I'm financially comfortable and am able to solve my own problems, but every once in awhile, something mechanical or electrical goes wrong and I feel so lost. I'm not sure that I want a full-time man in my life (I have become extremely independent), but it would be nice to have a part-time man to rely on at times. But then again, with my improving handyman skills, maybe I don't need a man to rescue me. But it still might be nice to have one. (Can you tell that I'm home alone on a Saturday night?)

You were off Saturday!! Why didn't you call me? I have lots food, booze, chocolate and dogs to play with!
Hmmm...i happen to know you love chocloate and cake, so who you trying to convince with the fruit thing ehhh LOL!
Love the coat, should be perfect for your holiday and you'll be able to fit lots of leprauchorns..LOL ok i can't spell it, you know those short teeny mystical people, under your coat!!
But, Sarah, you're not a man (said with whiny voice).
Michelle, okay, I eat other stuff too, but you should see my fruit budget. It's even higher than my chocolate and beer budget combined. That's really saying something. What do I get if I catch a leprechaun(sp?)? Three wishes or a pot of gold?
Great coat!
Gotta love that Costco. We get lots of veggies there, too. Seasonally, they'll carry some really good organic stuff. Thank God for those big bagged lettuces because I eat salad for lunch every day (followed by chocolate, lol).
Congrats on your sprinkler work, Melissa. :)
Thanks, Mary. Do you still restrain yourself to just one tiny square of chocolate?
You don't need a man to enjoy boozing it up and eating good chocolate, anyway, if you had one over you would have to share it with them, and you know how much they eat!
Men are good for things other than sharing food with. I still need some things fixed around here. :)
