Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Summer Snow

It is hot, but I think that AOL is exaggerating. It's in the low 100's not 125, unless my thermometer is broken.

Despite the heat it's snowing, sort of. It's only ashes, but it's pretty and looks like snow flakes coming down. I'm going to have loads of fun dusting over the next few days.

Do people still use AOL? Just curious.

We don't have fires around here in Houston, but a couple of times smoke has drifted up from southern Mexico. It probably wasn't as bad as what tou are having though. Even with all the problems you have I still think you are living in the best area of the country. I lived in Santa Barbara for a few months about 3o years ago, and I still miss it.

How about we share that temperature - give me say, 30% of it? ;-D

People don't use AOL. AOL uses people. :)

Anon, I am getting fed up with AOL. What do you suggest that I use instead?

Gary, if I could, I would live in Santa Barbara, but financially it's not possible. Oh well, at least it's not too far to visit.

Karen, that sounds like a great idea and I would also like to get some of your rainy days. I'm tired of looking at brown hillsides and paying my ridiculous water bill with all of its penalties for excessive water use.

Dave, who do you use?

we have our cable, phone and internet all in one... all one bill too. Gawd... I remember the fires there... I worked for the forest service for a while...a while back... and we had to send some of our hotshot crew over to California... fires are really scary!!!

We've used Earthlink for several years and have been satisfied with the service. It's just a dial-up connection, but for home use it's been adequate enough. Only downside is that being a software guy, other engineering types do make light of it.

Geez, Alan. Do you still use Prodigy? ;)

Madwag, fires are scary. This is the time of year when I debate if I should cut down or severely prune the trees hanging over my house.

Alan, do you do most of your blogging and surfing at work where you have high speed? I had dial up for awhile and just about went crazy.

Dave, be nice to the other kids in the sand box. ;)

I never said I was nice! I was just yanking his chain. No offense meant. Sorry, Alan. :)

I'll occasionally scan blogs at work, but no writing or posting. The company is pretty easy going, but you never know when the IT police may be watching. I've heard of folks in other companies having problems due to employers checking Blogs and MySpace type sites. I try to keep my blog light and upbeat and never derogatory.

Dave, my sense of humor is quite sacastic, so I'm not offended by much of anything. For the sake of humor, I'll occasionally set my self up with a straight line, to allow someone to zing. (Glad you took the opportunity).

Oh Oh! I think there are cats in this sandbox.
