Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Bed Hopping

Sarah and I did some bed hopping yesterday. (Get your mind out of the gutter. It's not what you think.) Sarah wants to buy a new bed and the new beds nowadays are so high off the ground that you practically need to get a good running start to use one. We did a lot of hopping and climbing to get on the beds to test the mattresses.

If Sarah buys one, she's going to need some kind of a ramp so that she and her dogs can get in bed. Either that, or she and her dogs will have to learn pole vaulting.

I thought about it and I actually had my camera with me, but I was reluctant to ask someone to take our picture. You never know when pictures like that might come back to haunt you. :)

I like that running2ks. :) I'm always asking for pictures, too. Unless it's of something that oogy.

Oogy is what I do best, but I'm trying to show some self-restraint. :)

Since I purchased a nearly perfect frame last weekend we have to do some some serious bed hopping to find the perfect mattress (the perfect one was almost $5000 more and I would need a castle to accomodate its giantic size). I have grown tired of the once perfect sleep number bed and will now banish it to the guest room. I also need new night tables and a a dresser...I'm thinking dark wood with some nice carving, I have a place that will custom cut and bevel marble tops for them. When is your next available shopping day?

$5,000 for a mattress? What was it made out of, goose down?

Our next shopping day can be as soon as we want. My finger is still oozing pus. :)

No, the bed frame was $5000, the mattress we saw was about $3400...but it was for the set and it was on sale for only $1600! C'mom you love to sleep more than anyone I know, you it's worth it! I can shop all weekend if you want to call in before the gangrene takes over that finger.

I am gifted when it comes to sleeping.

I am so tempted to call in sick today because some workaholic doctor is doing 2 hip and 2 knee replacements today. What's wrong with him? Those aren't done on the weekend! We're going to be running our tails off tonight.

I would love to shop with you instead, but I can't do that to my coworkers.

I'm so sorry as I am going to pick up my new bed today, and whatever else I can find. I would be happy to come and work the shift with you if those idiots would hire per diems on your floor. And what the hell, 4 procedures on a Saturday? He's either got lots of student loans to pay off or 2 kids in college! I hope the pm shift has to page him all night!
