Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

They Didn't Mention in Report That The Patient Was Dead

Making rounds, I came across a patient lying on her back with her arms folded over her chest. The sheet was pulled over her head. Watching closely, I saw her take a breath. I hate it when patients do their dead impressions. But, it could have been worse. At least she wasn't really dead.

Sounds awful. Do they do that often?

It's amazing how many people like to sleep with the covers pulled over their head. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but in a hospital it can be unnerving.

(Do you think that we sort of look alike?)
