Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

My Thai Guy

I've been wandering around in shock. One of my coworkers asked if I would be interested in dating him. He's Thai and is as adorable as adorable can be. He's intelligent, polite and thoughtful. He's also 26 years old!

What could he possibly see in me? So, I asked him and he said that I was cute. (How can a 26 year old guy possibly find a 49 year old woman to be cute?) So, what did I say? My answer was, "Sure, I'll go out with you." (Excuse me while I have a panic attack.)

Wow Melissa! You may get to use the new king sized electric blanket after all! Of course I know all men are liars, so I would check his immigration status to make sure he's not just trying to get you to marry him for citizenship, or your money (shh) don't tell him you have any. You could just use him for sex...mmm wait does he know how to cook Thai food? Of course I know that I am "damaged goods" as my friend so delicately put it so I don't trust anyone. All men must also be blind or stupid (oh yeah and cheaters) or else they would be lining up to take you out!

I think along the same lines as you, because I can't believe that any man would want me just for me. I figure that they just want to use me. (Even my husband admitted that he married me for my money.)

I've ruled out citizenship status. He's American born. He doesn't know what my assets are other than that I own a house. He owns one, too. Our incomes are about the same, so it's not that either. It sounds like he's physically attracted to me, but how can that be? Maybe he has heard stories about older experienced women and thinks that I could teach him some things. I'm sure that I could not.

This is just so weird. There must be something wrong with him or else he wouldn't be interested in me.

Maybe he just wants to go out with you because you are beautiful, or he likes women a little older than he is, or both. Just go out and have fun!
