Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Being Thankful for Utility Bills

Water bill: $98.72

Electric bill: $94.67

Chevron bill: $118.28

Having running water, electricity and gasoline: priceless.

It's only money.

Why are my bills 3 times as much as yours? Are the charges that much different in the next county or are the utility companies just raking it in? And gas is now $3.25 a gallon! Well it was yesterday, now I'm sure it's gone up again!

Why are your water and electric bills so much higher? We live in the same county, just different towns. You do use the air conditioner more than I do, but you couldn't possibly use as much water. My yard is bigger and like a swamp. You know about my cattail problem.

Are you sure that the neighbors aren't using your water and electricity?

I have no idea why my bills are so much higher. Maybe because I have to keep the a/c on all day while I'm at work so my dogs can lounge in perfect comfort on the couch or my bed and sleep. Maybe it's because all my ex boyfriends think they live here and stand in front of my fridge until all the cold air is out several times a day, or maybe it's because they bring their cars and motorcycles over here to work on them in my garage where there is a nicely stocked fridge and lights and power so you can all work late into the night...I have no idea. Could it be that when one of them upgraded my electrical system to the point where you could run a wal mart in my yard it jacked up the bill? Maybe filling the pool, maybe it's the blow dryer and the iron running half an hour every day (I don't use either)... I have no idea! Is there a way to hook up to your neighbors electrical? I'd like to know more about that!

You mean all of your ex-boyfriends don't actually live there? You could have fooled me.

The same ex who upgraded your electrical system to accomodate a Walmart could help you borrow electricity from the neighbors. :)

No, they don't live here! Can someone besides me please tell them! They stopped listening to me years ago (obviously, hence the ex designation). I do wish the same unnamed butt head could help me out with my current electrical dillema, but since he doesn't need to borrow any more money (he still owes me from last time), he doesn't need any of the many tools (or other crap) he has stored in my garage, and he apparently has some food at home, I haven't heard from him in a few weeks. I guess I should count my blessings!

I hope that you don't leave your computer open to my blog. :)

Do you think that would really work? I will leave it on next time they are here!
