Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.
My coworker showed me this thermometer and asked me what the red one was for. She is not a new nurse, so I assumed that she was joking and laughed.
She repeated the question again and so I laughed some more. With complete innocence, she said that the blue one was for taking temperatures, so what was the red one used for?

I'm guessing one is rectal and one is oral (and best not confused), but shouldn't they be labled better?
Oh man, I'll have to assume the same thing. But ack.
What about brown?
Only nurses use this. It should be common knowledge among nurses what the different colors mean, but I guess that is expecting too much.
Dave is right, btw, although Brandy's idea of making the red one brown might be a good idea. :)
