Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Beating Drum Clock

A while back one of my wall clocks fell off the wall and broke. While Christmas shopping I found a clock that I thought was cute and so bought it. (Why is it that half of the Christmas presents I buy are for myself?)

I put in a battery and it began ticking like a snare drum. I tried hanging it in the loft, where the old clock had been, but the ticking was so loud that even in my bedroom I could hear and be driven mad by it. I tried putting it downstairs and still the sound was too much. Now I think I know why the clock was on sale.

Would anyone like a new clock for Christmas? It's free; just provide your own earplugs.

I remember when that happened. So now you are living Poe's "Telltale heart"

Maybe there is someone whom you are not very fond of - might be a suitable Christmas present ;-)

R2Ks, sorry, I'm not familiar with that tale, but I'll take your word for it that I'm living it.

Karen, I don't dislike anyone that much.

Michelle, would you like it? You could give it to some judge you hate.
