Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Descending Spider

I was driving down a narrow, curvy freeway offramp when a spider chose that moment to drop from the ceiling of my car right in front of my face. Having it not land on me suddenly became my priority. I took my eyes off the road for a couple of seconds and frantically began batting at it. Having just exited the freeway, I was still traveling fast. When my eyes returned to the road, I was a fraction of a second away from hitting the guardrail. Yanking the wheel, I just missed it.

Now, I have a new problem. The spider might still be in the car and doesn't know how to get out. Should I leave my car window open so that the spider can get out? Or would that encourage more spiders to move in?

Oh goodness, you just versed one of my worst nightmares. Don't leave the window down, drown the inside of the car with pest killer.
I remember being in the car with a girlfriend and this giant spider fell on the steering wheel and started running around it! She nearly ran us into a light pole on the side of a highway!
Don't encourage spiders, teeny ones grow into giant ones!

I'm with Michelle on "nuking" the car, but then you have to drive in it and breathe those toxic fumes...

Who knew that a spider in the car could be so dangerous? As afraid as I am of spiders, I'm more afraid of pesticides. Hopefully, it's gone now.
