Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

LOL!
This is such a simple cute joke and yet I'm laughing hysterically at it! I can almost hear the blonde's voice saying "it's right here" with a 'duh' tone as she circles the x.

Now ask her to spell "hypotenuse". ;)

[Uh, please tell me that you do know the real answer is 5.]

I don't understand, what's so funny about it? The X is right there. :)

OK I took the required math and algebra and I have never used it in real life. I calculate chemo doses using the equations I learned in chemistry. Can someone tell me why we even need to know what x is? How does this help us in our daily life? Will it make me play pool better, (no that was geometry)?Dk you are the math wiz, why do I need to know this?

I use algebra often, even before I became a nurse, but I've never had occcasion to use geometry since high school. It's a good thing, too, geometry was not my best subject.

Sarah: You don't need to know it. Math is just a conspiracy to motivate women to cook for us. ;)

(By the way, I'm a computer programmer, and yet I don't really need higher math that often. I use logic all day long, but math... not so much.)

Thank you Dk, you are my new best friend. If you will do my algebra, I will happily cook anything you wish. (except veal, foie gras or Kobe beef, even I have ethical limits) Of course you know Melissa is a better cook than I am, my specialty is baking and pastry.
