Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Sad News

This morning I found Murphy drowned in the pond. He's been very weak these past few days and must have decided to go in the pond in the middle of the night or early this morning. The water is shallow and he could have sat there and been fine until I found him to help him out of the pond, but he's been having fainting spells and must have passed out in the pond.

He didn't have much time left; he's been sick with cancer, but I wanted him to die in my arms, not like this. My heart feels like it's breaking.

Melissa, Very sorry to hear the sad news. From the blog stories and pictures, Murphy sounded like a great dog. Deepest sympathies.

I'm very sorry. I wished Murphy could have lived a lot longer. My dog died a couple of tears ago, and I still don't have another one.

Poor Murphy.. I'm so sorry. He loved that pond. Part of me thinks that that's where he wanted to be in the end.

My thoughts are with you. I know how tough things like this are.

I'm sorry too.
How did he come into your life? Puppy, adolescent, adult? Pet store, shelter, stray? How long did it take to house-train him? How long was he with you? Do his companions showing signs of missing him?

Did you ever fall over him - really, not just figuratively? When, and what were the circumstances that made you the maddest at him? How did he and you 'make up' afterwards? Or was it all your fault, after all, and he got an extra(?) steak as a peace offering?

When you have the free time to write, would you like to give us an authorized biography of Big Murph?

Oh Melissa, I'm so sorry you had to lose Murphy and that it wasn't in the way you wished for but you gave him the best life and the most love any dog could hope for and in time your memories of him in happier moments will make you smile again when you think of him. I know only too well what you are going through right now. *hugs*
