It Wasn't Me
The nurse manager visited our unit this evening and said that a patient complained about one of the nurses. The patient, who was mentally challenged, not to be confused with the other mentally challenged patient, had complained that his nurse the previous evening had been rude and refused to hand him his phone when it rang. He described this nurse as being tall, skinny and blonde. I'm the only one who fits that description, but it wasn't me. He was never my patient and I never went into his room. His nurse last night was short, obese and black haired, but she does have a tendency to be brusque, bordering on rude. It's possible that he did feel mistreated, but it wasn't by a tall, skinny blonde.
The assignment paper showed that he was never my patient and my coworkers confirmed that they never saw me go into his room. I have no idea what the guy looks like. I hate being falsely accused. I know that it wasn't me, but I'm not sure that the manager does. This just infuriates me.
The night didn't entirely suck, though. A happy patient gave us a basket of cookies, brownies and muffins. I drowned my sorrows in sugar and fat until I felt like vomiting. I feel much better now.
