TV Snobs
When getting to know someone new, sometimes I find that despite the subject not even remotely coming up, the new acquaintance will sniff and say, "I never watch TV." This causes my hair to stand up, because I know that they're just being pompous and arrogant. Even if true, which it never is in my experience, why volunteer the information unless your hope is to make others feel bad?
When people say that they "never" watch TV, I'll change the subject and ignore the remark. I find that soon the acquaintance will change the subject back to TV and begin talking about various TV shows and actors. It's tempting to comment that for never watching TV, they sure do know a lot about what is on it, but I never do. Just because someone is obnoxious doesn't mean that I have to behave badly also.
Personally, I like TV and would watch more of it if I didn't work evenings. I'm not ashamed of liking TV, so go ahead and scorn me and people like me. It says more about your character than mine.

Me either! I love tv, i'm only sorry i don't have the time to watch more than i do! Let them scorn Melissa, i love tv!
I love tv. TV is my friend :)
I have to say truly that I had a TV in practically every room of my house, one is 60 inches across, some I didn't even know how to use, and I never watched it until a few years ago when I had a difficult separation. TV is now my friend too but I am a little picky about what I watch. Life is too short to waste on bad TV, cheap wine or cheap chocolate!.
Thanks guys, at least I'm not the only one who is not afraid to admit to liking TV. (Sorry about the double negative. I'm too tired to fix it.)
