Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Cake Stump

A patient gave us this cake to share, but someone has been eating from the top. It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode in which the patrons of a coffee house pulled off the top of muffins, ate them and donated the muffin stumps to homeless people. This cake is turning into one big stump. The homeless people in the show weren't happy about it and neither are the rest of us.

That is so unfair. Is it possible to bake just a cake top?

I wish. I guess that we could just give the cake stump to homeless people.

It's not bad taste if you offer them a piece of half eaten cake too. :)

I suppose if you carry around frosting, anything will taste good, so that would work.

What a great solution! It never would have occurred to me to ice a cake stump and make it look new and yummy again. :)

Yes you can just make stumps, use a shallow muffin type baking sheet, there are lots of different shapes, or a madeleine pan and fill it about halfway. You should come out with lovey stumps. Call me when they are ready!
