Fuzzy Photos
Have my pictures been looking like crap lately? A little fuzzy perhaps? That's because my flash is no longer working. The orange low battery light flashes even after the battery has been fully charged. The only way I can get the camera to snap the picture is to turn the flash off. That means under low light conditions, having to hold my hands steady for about a second. It's a good thing that I'm not a neurosurgeon, because holding my hands steady is way beyond my abilities.
My project for today was to buy a new battery. Surely the problem had to be that my almost daily taking and downloading of pictures had worn the poor thing out. It wasn't easy, I had to go to three different stores to find the right one and a clerk actually asked me if I knew that the battery needs to be re-charged. Although I'm an idiot, even I knew that the battery was not a one time use battery. Imagine how expensive that would be at $45 a pop. Of course, I was polite to the well-meaning clerk who thought that I was even ditsier than I really am. Honest mistake.
Anyway, I got the battery and charged it, put it into the camera and was met, once again, with a flashing orange light. Not giving up so easily, I got a Q-Tip and cleaned the little metal things that the battery connects to. No luck. I even got out the instruction booklet out and read it. No help there either, although I did learn a useful tidbit of information. If the liquid crystal display ever breaks, I shouldn't put it in my mouth. Who would have known?
I don't know what I'm going to do. I could mail it to Olympus and ask them to fix it, but it might be cheaper and easier to just buy a new one. In the meantime, my pictures are going to be fuzzy.
(Sorry about the dirt under my fingernails. That's from eating pomegranates and won't wash off.)

Just a thought, have a look at the Olympus website, they may offer a solution :)
Thanks, Michelle. I'll try that.
Well, the good thing about fuzzy pictures is it will have the Cybill Shepard in Moonlighting effect--everyone will look 10 years younger and everything will look clean :)
You're right. I guess I should start taking more self-portraits while I have the opportunity to look my best. :)
