Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Scary Thing On The Couch

Kelsey kept barking and growling at the couch. He's a rather odd dog anyway, so I didn't pay much attention at first, but it was starting to get on my nerves.

I finally went over to see what he was so upset about and he was looking at a rolled up blanket. It was new and I had set it down without any thought to how frightening it would be. Poor Kelsey. Once I properly introduced him to the blanket, they got along fine. It's not easy being a tough watch dog.

What a clever boy! He's one smart cookie, he knew things were not quite right. How reassuring for you, big hugs to Kelsey!

He's real tough when it comes to blankets, but if he's really scared, for example if someone knocks on the door, he'll run behind me for protection. Murphy does the same. It's a good thing that I have tiny Tommy to protect us.

Watch out, it might cover someone, and...uh...make them warm....agggghh!

He must retaliate by getting hair all over it.

Happy New Year!

He's actually retaliated by chewing some holes in it. Take that and that, you scary blanket.

Grin. Tobi does that too. Once there was a huge rock on the path by the river that hadn't been there before and he barked and growled at it and refused to walk by it until we went there with him.
Gotta love dogs and their idiosyncracies!

And Kelsey has more than his fair share.
