Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Poop-Like Substance On A Plate

I found this in the refrigerator at work. I couldn't just ignore it; the temptation was too great. I plopped it down on a desk in front of a coworker. Instinctively, she jumped back.

I asked, "What does this look like?"

"Poop", she replied.

Another coworker walked by and said, "That looks like poop."

It did look like someone pooped on a plate, but it was just something that dietary had sent us. I'm guessing it was meant to be food, but who really knows?

On the same evening that I found that little treasure, one of my patients said that our food was so good that he was almost tempted to have more surgery just to be able to enjoy our food again. At first I assumed that he was being sarcastic, but he assured me that he was sincere. It causes me to wonder about his wife's cooking.

Ya know, when I saw that your blog had a new post, I started to read it over breakfast, then I noticed the title and decided to wait. Now that I've seen the photo, I am SO thankful that I did :)

Pureed hamburger patty? You would think I should know what that is seing as how I work in a long term care facility & over half the residents eat a pureed diet. This one escapes me, lol.

Maybe the patient was from Hawaii and asked for a poo-poo platter.

Mahala, I'm glad, for your sake, that I appropriately labeled the post.

Alan, I'll have to be careful if I ever the poo-poo platter.

Il nurse, you're right. It makes me extremely motivated to take good care of my teeth.

Connie, mmm polenta. That, I wouldn't mind plopped on a plate.
