Misadventurous Melissa

Everyday is an adventure, or misadventure as the case may be. It is the latter that makes for the best stories, inspiring the name of my blog. I'm a nurse and an attorney (and way too silly sometimes). I am retired now. WELCOME to my blog! This is a work of fiction inspired by true events. The patients I refer to are a patchwork quilt of various patient's problems mixed together. If you think you recognize someone, you are wrong. These people do not really exist.

Would You Eat This?

A coworker eats these things everyday. I don't even want to think about what these look like.

Michelle is right. I don't know if they're rotten or not, but they droop like that because she microwaves them. No, I haven't eaten any of hers, but they have been sneaked into dishes that I have tried. I wasn't impressed with them.

You must stop eating that unidentifiable food they bring in or you will end up in your own hospital, and then guess what you wil be eating (gasp)!

I know all of the restaurants that deliver in the area. Food wise, I would do fine.

I'm relieved to hear that you don't eat those things. You had me worried there for a minute.

LOL, frozen bananas, when thawed look exactly the same. Why do I freeze them? Because we buy them a big ol' bunch at a time and they usually start to get too ripe before they're all eaten (my family likes them barely ripe). So I pop the last 2 or 3 in the freezer. At the end of the month I pull out about 8 frozen (black, they get black, but only on the outside) bananas and let them thaw slightly. Pop them out of their skins, still slushy, and into a blender with some peanut butter and vanilla soy milk and blend. Mmmmm. So good. Waste not, want not. Maybe next time I'll take a picture for you. ;)

Because I live on smoothies, I have bags of frozen fruit in the freezer at all times. The bags of berries, I buy. The bananas I peel and put in freezer bags. When I'm ready to use them, I just plop them in the blender.

Today, I had a banana smoothie made with frozen bananas, soy milk and banana liquer. ( I'm not working today.)
